What you will learn:

This two-day course equips delegates
with the skills to shoot a basic video story package. It
includes how to use a video camera; the fundamentals
of audio; composing shots effectively; shooting a basic
interview and editing a simple package using either Adobe
Premiere Elements or Apple’s Final Cut Pro software. For
journalists, press photographers and anyone who wishes to
produce exciting and professional-looking video clips on a
budget.

Workshop content includes:

• Making the most of the video camera’s most useful features
• Understand how to compose well-framed shots
• Interview technique and storyboarding
• Setting up locations, what to look for and what to avoid
• Understanding the different types of microphones and when to use them
• Import video into the computer
• Editing a sequence on Adobe Premiere Elements or FCP
• Adding voice-overs and music, building a sound-track
• Using filters, creating motion effects and adding titles
• Outputting: exporting sequences and clips for the web
